Honesty is not just a blog value for us — it is a spiritual conviction. Here is everything you need to know about how this site earns income and how that affects what we recommend.

✦ The Short Version
  • Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click and purchase, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
  • I only recommend products I personally own and use in my own quiet time.
  • Affiliate relationships never influence my reviews or devotional content. If I don’t love it, I don’t recommend it — regardless of whether there is a commission.
  • I participate in the Amazon Associates Program and other affiliate programs described below.
  • This disclosure is required by the FTC and reflects my genuine commitment to transparency with my readers.
✦ What Is an Affiliate Link?

How Affiliate Links Work

An affiliate link is a special tracking link that tells a retailer — like Amazon or Walmart — that you came from my website. When you click an affiliate link and then purchase a product, I receive a small commission from the retailer. This commission is paid by the retailer, not by you. You pay exactly the same price whether you use my link or go directly to the store.

These commissions help support the work of maintaining and growing Coffee & Bible Reading — covering website costs, purchasing new Bibles to review, and dedicating time to create the content you read here. In simple terms: when you shop through my links, you are supporting this ministry at no additional cost to yourself.

✦ Programs I Participate In

Affiliate Programs on This Site

Coffee & Bible Reading participates in the following affiliate programs. Where affiliate links are used, they are always clearly disclosed within the post or page.

🛍️ Amazon Associates Program

As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. Many of the Bibles, journals, pens, and faith products I recommend link to Amazon.

🏪 Walmart Affiliate Program

Some Bible reviews include links to Walmart as an alternative purchasing option. I may earn a commission on qualifying Walmart purchases.

📖 Christian Publisher Partners

Occasionally I partner with Christian publishers and Bible retailers for affiliate arrangements on specific product reviews. These are always disclosed within the individual post.

Other Retailers

From time to time, other faith-based retailers may be added to this list. This disclosure page is updated whenever a new program is added.

✦ My Commitment to You

What Never Changes

Affiliate income does not determine what I recommend. Every Bible reviewed on this site has been personally purchased and used in my own morning quiet time — often for months before a review is written. Every product in my shop section is something I have personally used or carefully vetted. I have turned down affiliate opportunities for products I didn’t believe in, and I will continue to do so.

✦ My Promise to Every Reader

I will never recommend a product simply because it pays a commission. If I put my name on it, it is because I genuinely believe it will enrich your quiet time with God. My integrity before my readers — and before the Lord — is worth far more than any commission check. You have my word on that.

My reviews are written to help you make an informed decision about what belongs on your quiet time shelf — not to push you toward a purchase. If I find a flaw in a product, I say so. If I think there is a better option for your needs, I will tell you that too. Honest guidance is the only kind of guidance worth giving.

“A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.”
— Proverbs 22:1 (KJV)
✦ How to Spot Affiliate Links

Identifying Affiliate Content on This Site

Wherever affiliate links are used, you will see one or more of the following notices near the link or at the top of the post:

“This post contains affiliate links.” — Appears at the top of any post or page where affiliate links are present.

“Affiliate link · I earn a small commission” — Appears beneath shop buttons and product recommendation cards throughout the site.

“Some links on this page are affiliate links.” — May appear in the footer or sidebar of pages containing recommended products.

If you ever have a question about whether a specific link is an affiliate link, please feel free to reach out directly. I am always happy to clarify.

✦ FTC Compliance

Federal Trade Commission Requirements

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) requires bloggers and content creators to clearly disclose any material connection between themselves and the products or services they promote — including affiliate relationships, free products received for review, and paid partnerships.

In accordance with the FTC’s Endorsement Guides (16 CFR Part 255), Coffee & Bible Reading discloses all affiliate relationships, sponsored content, and gifted products on this site. This page serves as the site-wide disclosure, and individual posts contain disclosures specific to the content within them.

✦ Common Questions

Questions & Answers

Q Does using your affiliate link cost me anything extra?

No — never. You pay exactly the same price you would pay going directly to Amazon, Walmart, or any other retailer. The commission comes from the retailer’s side, not yours.

Q Do you receive free products in exchange for reviews?

Occasionally publishers or brands send products for review consideration. When this happens, it is always clearly disclosed within the review post. However, receiving a product for free never guarantees a positive review — I give my honest assessment regardless. The majority of Bibles I review are purchased with my own money.

Q Are your devotionals or blog posts sponsored?

No. My devotionals, scripture study posts, and opinion pieces are never sponsored. They are written from my personal quiet time and study, funded entirely by affiliate income and reader support. No brand or advertiser has any influence over the content of my devotional writing.

Q What if I don’t want to use an affiliate link?

That is completely fine and I respect that choice. You can always search for the product directly on Amazon, Walmart, or your preferred retailer. I mention the exact product name and publisher in every review so you can find it easily without using my link.

Q How do I know you actually use these products?

I share videos of my quiet time, my Bible unboxings, and my journaling practice on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. You can see the products I use in my daily content. My shelf is my resume — and what you see there is what I recommend here.

Q Will this disclosure page be updated?

Yes. Whenever I join a new affiliate program or change an existing arrangement, this page will be updated to reflect it. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when it was most recently revised.
